Keep Your Eyes Open
So, recently on Travis’s daily picture blog, he mentioned how he always carries his camera with him nowadays, and how you should always keep your eyes open for picture opportunities. Well, I’m here to tell you he’s right.
A day or two ago, the light in front of my apartment’s door went out. This is, of course, a problem, given that the skylight in the stairwell is so small. Today, I was leaving to go hit up Chansky’s when I open the door and pause. In front of me, the light from the skylight was filtering straight down, lighting up the railings and leaving the stairs themselves in darkness. Naturally, I turned right back around, grabbed my camera and a tripod, and got a few pictures. It really is amazing what you can get when you’re willing to just keep your eyes open for the world around you.
As a side note, I’m glad the weather finally heated up. I hope it remains clear this week – I’ve been wanting to get a sunset off the Mass. Ave bridge, and this weather is perfect for it. Well, keep your fingers crossed. In the meantime, have a couple pictures of the stairwell in question:
